    Shop till you drop...

    Evening peoples,

Well, this place wasn’t opened to air my rants but it feels like it has been…. What the hell is it about shopping that makes me want to grab everyone within a 10ft radius of me and rag them about a bit. Maybe it’s just me, maybe I’m just not cut out for this shopping lark.

What was meant to be a nice quiet walk around the shops to buy a dress (yes that’s a bloody dress!) for my bro’s wedding turned out to be a complete nightmare. Anyway, I’m not you’re dress kinda person; they just don’t do me any favours, but figured something plain would be ok. Now have you ever tried to get a ‘plain’ dress in these bloody shops, why do dress makers think everyone wants to look like some kind of luminous birthday present tied up with a ribbon?

How hard can it be to find a dress that doesn’t involve some kind of ribbon or fluffy stuff, oh and never, that is NEVER go with someone else who wants to shop too… Everything just has this Gok Wan bloody crappy detail to it, baubles and flounces, I swear to god if you don’t look like some half wrapped sad present then you’ll pretty much look like some half dressed Christmas tree, neither of which is me.

How the hell do people, pick up what they want try it on and voila, it fits, they’re out of the shop in minutes… Oh no, not me, I’m dragged around the entire shop, giving my opinion on every single top, dress, shoes, bangles, baubles, bags, shirts, trousers, blah bloody blah blah… until it feels like I’ve judged, inspected and seen every item in the store… (ok maybe a bit of exaggeration there, possibly there were a couple of things I wasn’t forced to endure), but my god, after you’ve dragged around after two people who are perfectly capable of making their own decisions, suddenly shopping for yourself doesn’t really appeal any more…

Anyway, I managed to drag a dress off the rack, tried it on, took it to the checkout, paid for it, dragged it home with me, tried it on AGAIN and I hate it, after everyone says, oh yeah that’s nice, I hate the thing. So that’s me, either I go doing a great sack of potatoes impression or I find time between now and Thursday to take the thing back and buy something else, I ask myself can I really be bothered…. Not sure I can to be honest, so sack of spud look it might have to stay…

Any tips and tricks on shopping are most welcome, answers on a postcard please or if you’re really brave stick ‘em in the comments…lol.

Finding a suitable gown for a ladies attire can be very challenging. I prefer flameproof material in case there be dragons. Chastity belts are back in at the moment. I am sure you will look beautiful in whatever you choose to wear x

Well me little fruitcake, long time no comment thanks to spaces - I almost gave up trying and was going to join Facebook instead and close my space down for good.  I still might if spaces goes haywire again ...

Personally I don't reckon you look owt like a Christmas tree when dressed up - but it ain't that often I've seen you dressed, if you get my meaning?  Allow me to rephrase that ... I've never seen you dressed up all fancy like, though I can imagine when you do you look great.  And while we're on the subject, a travelling fair has landed across the road, parked on the field, and the constant loud music and some pillock's voice over the P.A. system calling out "Come on riders, there's still empty seats.  Come on riders, walk this way," is driving me nuts.  Now I'm not a party-pooper or owt like that, but does it have to be so loud?  Last night I didn't hear a word of what was said on Coronation Street - it's not on, is it, eh?

Righto, whilst spaces appears to be on a roll, I'd best go visit as many people as I can.  So you take care, especially when doing some shopping.  Catch yer again soon, hopefully ...

But...like his mom I'm a no-go for skirts and dresses as well.  I'm a jeans and tshirt kinda girl.  I've worked in the same office for 5 years and if they ever saw me come to work wearing anything resembling a skirt or dress, they'd die of shock...or laughter...not sure which! :s LOL

Oh well, no worries for me, it's not like I'm going to have to attend any sort of social event that would require that kind of outfit for a long time, if ever.....good thing too!  hehehe

Tips and tricks?  Not for clothes shopping, sad to say......and don't even get me started on shoes!!!!

Take care and hope you fare better the next time out in the shopping world!  ;-)
